York Mumbler first started life as a Facebook community chat group in 2012. Emily, founder of York Mumbler, was expecting her first child and inspired by the group her sister had set up in Harrogate, wanted to create a way for new parents to find each other, share advice and have a sense of community within the city. The group very quickly grew and the chat group became a source of local knowledge for families across York, with parents often asking for the same insights over and over again.

So after long days at work in her corporate role, Emily would spend her evenings creating and updating various documents with the groups tips and local gems to help parents find the best baby classes and groups in York, breast feeding friendly cafes, where to feed the ducks and more!

Years later and all that valuable local insight now lives in the York Mumbler website which houses over 3000 pages, listings and blogs! It’s a lot to keep track of and we regularly update all the information with insight from the group as well as local businesses and communities to ensure it continues to be useful and relevant.
